Built on research, not opinion

The pillars, their benchmarks and the way they combine come from published academic research on household finance, and professors of finance have reviewed the model.

HOW THE WEIGHTING WORKS

What counts most shifts with age.

The shield redraws as you move the slider: the bigger the section, the more it counts at that age.

  1. EARLY IN YOUR CAREER

How fast you save counts most.

    • Growth
  2. CLOSER TO RETIREMENT

Protecting what you’ve built takes over.

    • Stability
    • Loan
    • Diversification

Proportions are illustrative, not the actual weights.

What your score means

  • 80–100GreatStrong on almost every front. Keep it there as your life changes.
  • 60–79On TrackThe basics are in place, with one or two pillars worth tightening.
  • 40–59Needs AttentionA real gap in at least one pillar. Fixing the weakest one moves the score most.
  • 0–39At RiskA sudden expense or a lost income would hurt. Start with Stability and Shield.

What goes into each pillar

  • Months of expenses your emergency fund covers
  • Years of expenses your investments cover

Questions about the score

Because the score is meant to tell you what to fix, not to be tuned. Every input is something you can see and change: your savings, your cover, your EMIs, your mix.

We score a pillar only once we have the details it needs. Shield, for example, needs your insurance cover. Add those details and the pillar, and your overall score, update straight away.

No. A credit score tells a lender how likely you are to repay. The Armor Score tells you how well your own finances would hold up, and what to work on first.
